Dr. Sheila Saltzman, PT, DPT, COMT, EP-C, IFMCP

Sheila Saltzman is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner. She graduated from Boston University’s school of Health and Rehabilitative Sciences with a degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology before going on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She completed her clinical affiliations with Massachusetts General Hospital, working as a research assistant in the Neuroendocrine Department; Doctor’s Hospital in Miami, specializing in post-operative Rehab; and with EXOS in Phoenix, where she was fortunate to have gained experience as a Performance Physical Therapist working with both college and professional level athletes as well as US Special Forces.

Dr. Saltzman is also a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist with the Ola Grimsby Institute (OGI) and a Certified Exercise Physiologist with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). She completed her functional medicine training with the prestigious Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), and is the only IFM Certified Practitioner (IFMCP) in San Luis Obispo county. 

She focuses on evidence-based interventions and an integrative approach to help her patients achieve their goals. Her diverse background gives her a unique perspective in identifying physiological issues before they become disease. She looks to correct any clinical imbalances which may be at the root of her patients’ health conditions, or may be keeping them from achieving optimal health and performance.

George Plomarity,

Certified Health and Nutrition Coach

George is a certified Health and Nutrition Coach, and holds a BA in philosophy from Texas A&M University.  He has been studying human performance, and how to achieve ones’ best, his entire life.  He is an accomplished long distance runner with over 100 ultramarathon finishes in every distance from 50K to 100 miles, a world class surfer, big wall rock climber, a skateboarder, an artist, and a father.  George has been an active student of Zen Buddhism since he was a teenager, and has been engaged in meditation and mindfulness training for over 20 years.  He brings together a diverse background of experience into an integrative holistic approach to fostering health and wellness.

George’s practice is rooted in ancestral health, evolutionary biology, food as medicine, and fostering the awareness of cause and effect and mindfulness of ones’ motivations as the basis for making lasting and sustainable behavioral change.
